MACHINERY ASSETS · TECHNICAL REPORTING · REMOVAL

**Get a clear picture of your machinery asset and the work required to move it.**

Precision Machine Industries provides machinery inspections, technical condition reporting, decommissioning and extraction across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. We support finance and leasing companies and machinery owners who need practical engineering information about CNC and automated production equipment.

Our machinery knowledge connects what is found during an inspection with the work involved in the asset’s next stage.

## A useful condition report starts with the right questions

Before an inspection, we agree what you need to understand about the machinery and how the findings should be presented.

You may need to confirm the equipment identity, record visible condition, investigate reported operating concerns or establish how the machine is installed. An agreed brief keeps the inspection focused on those decisions.

Relevant observations can include:

- Manufacturer, model, serial number and installed specification.
- Principal assemblies, control equipment and associated machinery.
- Visible damage, missing components and maintenance concerns.
- Mechanical, electrical and control\-system condition.
- Operating checks where testing is available and agreed.
- Photographs and a clear account of the findings.
- Practical considerations affecting dismantling and collection.

The report distinguishes observed condition from functions that were tested, giving the reader a clear understanding of the evidence available.

## Technical clarity for finance and leasing decisions

A machinery asset may include more than its main frame and control panel. Separate electrical cabinets, vacuum pumps, handling equipment and connected assemblies can affect what needs to be identified and included in a collection.

PMI’s experience with CNC controls, drives, mechanical systems and production machinery helps us recognise those relationships. We explain technical concerns in plain language and identify points requiring further investigation.

Whether you are reviewing an asset or preparing equipment for an agreed collection, the aim is a useful account of the machinery and its practical requirements.

## Decommissioning and physical machinery extraction

Removing installed machinery needs a planned sequence that reflects the equipment, site access and intended next use.

PMI undertakes the machinery work involved in decommissioning, dismantling and preparing equipment for removal. Depending on the project, this can include:

- Reviewing the current installation and associated equipment.
- Establishing the dismantling sequence and collection requirements.
- Identifying and labelling separated components and connections.
- Dismantling machine assemblies within the agreed scope.
- Preparing equipment for handling and transport.
- Coordinating the machinery work with collection arrangements.

Specialist subcontractors provide electrical disconnection, crane or HIAB lifting and haulage as required. Their responsibilities and timing form part of the agreed project arrangements.

For equipment that will operate at another site, our [machine relocation service](/services/machine-moves/) allows the receiving\-site engineering requirements to be considered alongside removal.

## Plan the inspection or extraction around the asset

### Define the instruction

Send the machine details, site location and the questions you need answered. Explain whether you need an inspection, condition report, removal preparation or a combination.

### Review access and scope

We discuss the equipment, available documentation, site access and whether operation can be demonstrated. For removal, the review also considers dimensions, weight information, collection access and the proposed sequence.

### Agree the work and handover

The scope, reporting requirements, quotation and timing are agreed before attendance. Site access and authority for removal are confirmed before extraction begins.

PMI then completes the agreed machinery work and supplies the relevant findings or project handover.

## Inspection and extraction questions

### Can you inspect machinery without arranging its removal?

Yes. An inspection and condition report can be commissioned as a standalone service. Tell us the decisions the report needs to inform so the brief addresses the relevant questions.

### Can a machine be inspected if it is disconnected?

An inspection can record identification, visible condition and accessible components. The report will explain which operating functions could be checked and which require further investigation when suitable testing is available.

### What helps you prepare an extraction quotation?

Send the equipment list, photographs, location, available dimensions and weight information, together with the proposed collection date. Images of the installation, access route and separate assemblies help explain the removal requirement.
