A falling vacuum level, longer evacuation time or unexpected pump stoppage gives you a starting point for investigation. PMI considers the operating symptoms alongside the pump, motor and installation.
The circumstances matter. Does the problem occur from startup, develop as the pump warms up, or appear when the machine begins working? Has anything changed in the pipework, filtration, controls or production process?
Relevant checks can include inlet restrictions, leakage, cooling condition, motor current and abnormal noise or vibration. Vacuum performance testing helps establish what the pump is delivering and whether further investigation is needed.

MINK dry claw vacuum pumps
Busch MINK pumps use dry, contact-free claw compression. Their compression chamber operates without oil.
Servicing requirements can include filters, cooling, external condition and the model’s separate gearbox lubrication requirements. The exact arrangement and intervals come from the identified pump’s documentation.
R5 oil-lubricated rotary vane pumps
Busch R5 pumps use oil-lubricated rotary vane technology. Oil condition, the specified lubricant, filtration and oil separation therefore form part of the maintenance picture.
The particular model and operating duty determine the applicable inspection, oil and filter requirements.

Busch vacuum pump questions
Does a MINK pump need lubrication maintenance?
A MINK pump has no oil in its compression chamber, but the particular model can have separate gearbox oil requirements. Its manual sets the relevant lubricant and service intervals. Supply the complete model when requesting maintenance.
Why can the machine show low vacuum while the pump is running?
Pump operation alone does not establish the vacuum available at the application. Restrictions, leakage, valves, machine sealing and the pump’s own condition can all affect the result. Describe where the reading is taken and when it changes.
Should a poorly performing Busch pump be serviced or overhauled?
That depends on the findings. Routine service items, a targeted repair and a broader overhaul address different conditions. PMI reviews the symptoms and pump condition before proposing the appropriate work and testing.
