- Cleaning and cooling — Remove accumulated dust and debris from cooling fins, fan covers, air passages and filter housings. Clean accessible internal components as required by the pump’s servicing procedure.

- Vane and wear checks — Inspect vanes on applicable pumps, measure them against the manufacturer’s wear limits and check other serviceable components for deterioration.

- Seals and gaskets — Inspect accessible seals, gaskets and connections for damage or leakage, identifying replacements where needed.
- Electrical and motor checks — Inspect electrical connections and check the motor’s operating current.
- Reassembly and running checks — Reassemble serviced components to the manufacturer’s requirements, then check operation for abnormal noise, vibration and temperature.
- Vacuum performance testing — Check vacuum performance after servicing and investigate any remaining operating concerns.
