Begin with an authorised, clearly defined instruction
Identify the instructing organisation and authorised contact, the asset and site, the purpose of the visit and the party controlling access. The first review should distinguish an inspection request from physical extraction and should not assume that either includes enforcement, valuation or legal functions.
PMI's relevant experience is principally machinery inspections carried out through Electrotech. That experience is not presented as PMI's own portfolio of direct lender appointments or as evidence of a regulated or accredited valuation service.
Define the observation and reporting requirement
The required questions, reporting format, timing and intended use need to be stated by the instructing organisation. Asset identity, available records, permitted access and any limits on operation or photography should be disclosed before the instruction is accepted.
A request described broadly as a valuation is not assumed to be within scope. PMI will first need to understand the basis, competence expectations and report requirements, and may be unable to accept work outside its evidenced machinery-engineering role.
Plan authorised physical extraction separately
Where extraction is required, PMI's machinery role concerns physical decommissioning, dismantling and removal under the client's authorised arrangements and agreed site access. Crane/HIAB, haulage and electrical disconnection are subcontracted.
PMI does not exercise independent repossession or enforcement powers. The instructing party remains responsible for establishing the authority and access under which any physical work is requested, while project responsibilities are agreed for the particular asset and site.
Exchange case material through an agreed private route
Keep the first enquiry to the organisation, asset, location and scope needed for an initial discussion. Do not upload extensive finance files, passwords, account credentials or unnecessary personal information. A private route for relevant case documents can be agreed after the instruction has been reviewed.
Questions about your requirement
Does PMI provide accredited machinery valuations?
PMI does not claim valuation accreditation or an established formal-valuation track record. Any assessment or reporting requirement must be discussed against its intended purpose and competence requirements before PMI can confirm whether a suitable scope exists.
Can PMI repossess machinery for a finance company?
PMI does not exercise independent repossession or enforcement powers. Physical extraction can only be discussed under the instructing party's authorised arrangements and agreed site access, with the machinery and specialist responsibilities clearly defined.
What should the initial finance-company enquiry include?
Identify the organisation and authorised contact, asset, site location, purpose, inspection or extraction requirement, access arrangements, required timing and reporting basis. Avoid sending unnecessary personal data or extensive case files in the first enquiry.
Does PMI carry out every part of a physical extraction?
No. PMI's role concerns agreed physical decommissioning, dismantling and removal. Crane/HIAB, haulage and electrical disconnection are subcontracted, and the full responsibility boundary must be agreed for the asset and site.
