Specify the required edge form
For a chamfer, include the specified angle, size and the surface from which it is defined. For a rounded edge, provide the radius and any relevant tolerances. State whether the edge is external, inside a hole or on the underside of a feature, and identify the workpiece material.
Check cutter geometry and clearance
Record the complete tool designation, shank and cutting dimensions. Corner rounding tools can differ in pilot diameter and form details, which affect access and the edge produced. Include the surrounding feature dimensions so the cutting form and non-cutting portions of the assembly can be assessed against the available space.
Distinguish edge rounding from end-mill corner geometry
A corner-radius end mill is not the same tool as a corner rounding cutter used to shape a workpiece edge. Equally, a tool listed for chamfering should not be assumed suitable for every countersinking or engraving task. Include the intended operation and manufacturer application information when requesting a replacement or alternative.

Can a chamfer cutter replace a corner rounding tool?
Not when the drawing requires a radius. An angled chamfer and a rounded edge have different forms and need to be evaluated against the specified feature.
What information helps with a difficult-to-reach edge?
Send a drawing or clear dimensions showing the edge and surrounding geometry, plus the current holder and cutter code. Access cannot be established from the requested radius alone.
